“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
Financial stress carries a weight that others may not see. It can keep you awake at night, turn ordinary expenses into difficult decisions, and make you feel as though you should be handling things better.
If that is where you are today, please hear this: you are not failing, and you are not alone.
God does not stand at a distance from your struggle. He is close in the uncertainty, the difficult choices, and the moments when you simply do not know what to do next. Faith does not mean pretending everything is fine. Sometimes faith is taking the next small step while trusting that God is beside you.
Today, let’s also remember to be gentle with one another. We may not know who is choosing between groceries and a bill, quietly looking for work, or trying to care for a family with too little. A kind word, a shared meal, or an offer of practical help can remind someone that they have not been forgotten.
A thought for today:
You do not have to carry tomorrow’s worries all at once. Take today one decision, one prayer, and one cup at a time.
Prayer:
God, please draw near to everyone feeling the pressure of financial hardship. Calm anxious hearts, provide wisdom for difficult decisions, and open doors where there seems to be no way forward. Help us notice one another and respond with compassion, generosity, and dignity. Remind us that our worth is not measured by what we have, but by how deeply we are loved by You. Amen.
